A brilliant restaurant at Indooroopilly, Nantucket is actually a forties diner at Indooroopilly station and an American Cape Cod-style restaurant in Indooroopilly Shopping Centre itself. The chef, Chris Sell, and manager, Paul McGivern, have both been customers and associates of ours for many years and we have loved being involved as their careers progress.
In fact, Chris actually spent time as a young boy working in our factory during his school holidays. Despite Chris still being quite young we have followed him through his career, first working for Paul at Manx, then Jetty Southbank, and then again as Executive Chef at Jetty Oxford.
Paul, we first met working for brilliant chef Phillip Johnston, then as Executive Chef at Tognini’s (under the Story Bridge) before really making a name for himself with his own restaurants, Rapide and Manx. Paul knows how to run a restaurant, front and back. And as such it’s no wonder TJ Peabody (of the legendary Peabody dynasty) has chosen him as his right hand man.
The real force behind Nantucket and NKB Express is the aforementioned TJ Peabody. The Peabody family is well known for its business interests and Nantucket, is another feather in the cap. The place is fresh, clean and run by an experienced crew, great chef and deft manager.
I have no shame in saying Nantucket sources their meat from us. They buy the best…simple.
The only flaw of this place is its popularity and that’s much better than wondering why you’re sitting in an empty restaurant.
We have been serving the Hotel Monier virtually from the day it opened way back in 2006. Due to the hotel’s close proximity to us, the quality of meat we provide, and the quality of the meals the hotel provides, our relationships was bound to flourish.
And we’re proud to be associated with a steak house with such an outstanding reputation.
